Digital transformation in maritime ports is a prominent factor in logistics, given the rapidly changing and developing supply chain. As the majority of cargo movements around the world occur through maritime ports, their developments through a digital pathway should align directly with stakeholders’ demands to fulfill the standards of their Logistics performance. This is the primary discussion in this research analysis, as supply should always meet demand to enhance performance. The limited Literature regarding digital transformation in maritime ports towards its Internal and external stakeholdersโ€™ logistics overall performance should be deeply evaluated. Therefore, this study is based on a Literature analysis to evaluate existing studies performed by scholars so far how strongly it connects stake holder logistics performance and digital transformation of ports through selecting the best digital technologies which provides main demands of the stakeholderโ€™s supply chain by identifying elements a best technology should fulfil. This Literature evaluation will provide suffice explanatory to replete the gap in two grueling areas and this will dominate the supply chain industry important necessity for โ€œSmart portโ€ concept which world is currently demanding and interested. And this study paves path for future studies the researchers or practitionersโ€™ who steadily focus for their countryโ€™s seaport development through digital revolution and also each stakeholder who demands for their logistics performance enhancement and both aspects will enrich future landscape of business enlargement for the fast-paced supply chain industry to achieve best practices and success.

The concept of lead time in the apparel industry is important to stakeholders in thesupply chain largely because it affects capability of meeting needs of consumers. Thispaper seeks to analyze the elements that cause longer lead times in garment production and assess their impact on responsiveness of the supply chain. The research objectives are as follows: first is to review discourse on the fast fashion industry; Second is to review the importance of supply chain responsiveness; Third is to review the extent lead time affects supply chain responsiveness; Fourth, to identify problem areas in lead time within the sewing department of apparel manufacturing companies in Kenya; Fifth is to determine ways apparel companies can reduce lead time and achieve supply chain responsiveness. This study applied mixed-methods research design. Quantitative methods primarily involved the use of questionnaires to collect primary data. Qualitative methods comprised of interviews with fashion industry players so as to gain more insight into the production process. Secondary data was gathered by reviewing reports, existing studies, articles, and academic literature on fashion and clothing industry. A total of 236 sewing operators from apparel manufacturing companies participated in the study and they were selected using convenience sampling techniques. The major finding is that apparel manufacturers in Kenya have challenges in reducing lead time caused when transitioning from producing one clothing style to the next. The apparel manufacturing companies located inside the Export Processing Zones in Kenya performed better than companies located outside the Export Processing Zone. This research adds to the existing literature as it examines areas that impede on supply chain responsiveness in the apparel sector. The implication of the research is that achieving supply chain responsiveness is key to competitiveness. Methods should be implemented to reduce lead time variability across key functions of purchasing, production, distribution and sales.
